Overview
Paid Search Account Director responsible for the coordination and delivery of their account(s) across paid search campaigns. Acts as the main campaign point of contact for clients, using platform knowledge and account management practices to ensure projects are delivered to brief, on schedule and within budget. Works with the account lead and the team’s head of search to deliver world‑class paid search programmes that exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the effective running of designated account campaigns and weaving these into the overall cross‑channel campaign strategy
* Ultimate accountability for adherence to controls and best practices across all channels in the immediate account team (with a focus on paid search); assist in regional development of search best practice
* Escalate potential conflicts between best practice and what is best for client programs
* Act as the primary contact between the Media Activation team and regular internal and external stakeholders for their account(s)
* Develop strong relationships with clients and key suppliers; lead team communications and provide clients with useful insights, working independently
* Maintain in‑depth knowledge of search platforms and bid management platforms; act as in‑agency expert in search with understanding of the broader media landscape
* Oversee development of testing plans to organise tactical and mid‑term campaign actions and goals
* Develop a strategic understanding of the client’s business and KPIs; stay up to date with industry news to spot trends and opportunities
* Contribute to the wider regional paid search strategy and provide strategic insight for campaign wrap‑ups
* Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats across all platforms
* Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns to deadlines
* Maintain strong client relationships and management skills; solve problems with creative solutions
* Lead and motivate team members; provide timely feedback and coaching
* Support team through vision and values, champion change, and foster positive leadership behaviors
* Monitor client satisfaction and work to maintain or increase it; foster collaboration across client teams for flawless plan execution
* Escalate issues when appropriate to Senior Client Director or senior management
* Establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships
Skills and Experience
* Senior Account Manager level experience in a digital media or advertising role
* Proven project management, leadership and management experience
* Extensive experience planning and running large‑scale PPC accounts via Google AdWords, Bing Ads, and third‑party platforms (e.g., Marin); DoubleClick Search certification desirable
* Experience planning and running large‑scale display accounts and campaigns on Google Display Network
* Strong knowledge of media planning fundamentals (reach, frequency, channels, formats, etc.)
* Experience managing search vendor relationships; contributing to search best practices
* Experience with Google Analytics (certification desirable)
* Some experience with paid social, programmatic display and reservation‑based buying desirable
* Experience running campaigns across multiple countries/languages
