We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager (Nursing) to join a welcoming and supportive nursing home located in the Stockport area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse looking to step into a senior leadership role or for an experienced Deputy looking for a new challenge within a care home setting that values kindness, dignity, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Nurse Manager, you will play a vital clinical and operational leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times. You will support the Home Manager in day-to-day operations, staff supervision, and clinical governance, including:
Acting as a key point of contact in the absence of the Home Manager.
Communicating effectively with residents, families, staff, and external professionals.
Responding to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and regulatory alerts (CQC/Safeguarding).
Leading handovers, staff meetings, and clinical supervision.
Assessing the healthcare needs of new and existing residents, ensuring ongoing care reviews are carried out.
Liaising with GPs and health professionals to support coordinated and holistic care delivery.
About You
You will be a confident and compassionate nurse leader with strong clinical skills and a passion for improving outcomes for older people. You’ll bring:
An active NMC pin (RGN/RMN)
Previous experience in a similar senior or leadership role in a care home or similar setting
Strong knowledge of clinical governance, CQC regulations, and safeguarding
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
A flexible and positive attitude, with the ability to support residents and staff alike
A genuine passion for person-centred care and continuous service improvement
