Houghton Le Spring/Sunderland
Car driver with own vehicle essential
I have two children, a son aged 10 and a daughter aged 7. Both have some developmental trauma and attachment issues, which cause emotional and behavioural difficulties. My son is also autistic and has ADHD. He attends a specialist school and needs support to manage his emotions and social situations. He enjoys using technology to play games (e.g., Roblox), drawing, and playing with Playdoh or Lego. He often needs encouragement and support to go out but enjoys himself once out. My youngest is very sociable, friendly, and loves spending time outside and playing with her baby dolls.
Brief details of the job:
The main purpose of this role is to work alongside me caring for and supporting my children. The primary focus is on supporting my son, but supervision and support for my daughter may also be required while I engage in activities with my son. Applicants should have experience managing challenging behaviour.
Hours:
* Alternate weekends: Saturday or Sunday for up to 8 hours. The specific day can be negotiated. Some flexibility with start and end times may be needed to accommodate children’s activities.
* Weekday evenings: There is potential for 2-3 hours on one or two evenings per week (between 4.30pm and 7.30pm), in addition to weekend hours.
A driver with own vehicle is required to take children to activities.
