Role: Managing Quantity Surveyor
Location: Hybrid, 3 days in North Wales, travelling to various sites.
Salary: £85,000 + additional benefits
Turner Lovell are recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join an £1billion + turnover EPC Contractor in the electricity and renewable energy sector. Following the award of multi-year framework agreements, the company is expanding its team to deliver turnkey HV substation projects across the UK, ranging from £20 million to £150 million.
This is a hybrid role, and we are looking for a candidate who can access the North Wales project site at least 3 times a week.
Responsibilities
* Lead all commercial activities across multiple OHL projects (delivering projects under National Grid framework)
* Oversee subcontract packages, including valuations and agreement of final accounts
* Produce claims, management reports, and cost forecasts
* Monitor project risks closely and ensure all commercial documentation is robust and accurate
* Identify variations, delays, and cost recovery opportunities early
* Collaborate with engineering, planning, and finance teams to maintain programme and budget control
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Requirements
* Experience or understanding of the Electricity Transmission sector (OHL / Substations) is advantageous, though strong major infrastructure experience on multi‑million‑pound projects will also be considered
* Proven experience managing large subcontractor work packages and liaising directly with the Client
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent “graduate‑level” experience
* Solid knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, especially Options A, B and E.
* Strong communication and negotiation capabilities
* Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying
* Valid full UK driving licence
