Pearly Cow is about what thrives
locally - all the herds, breeds, crops, and catches that dot our fields and
teem in our waters makes it onto our menus. There's raw and light and smoky and
deep. Think truly great steaks and fresh lobster rolls. It's menu shines a
light on food on ice and food over flame.
The Job
Following a recent internal promotion,
we are now looking for a superstar Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Team.
You'll get support the running of a
busy kitchen to this new restaurant concept, as well as helping to train your
teams the way you see fit. You get to help find the best produce from the best
suppliers around, and use them to create dishes that inspire wonder.
No.42 by GuestHouse Margate has
3 different food outlets including a ‘Field Trip’ our healthy café, our
signature restaurant ‘Pearly Cow’, showcasing the best of British Meat and
Seafood, and our rooftop bar serving delicious small plates.

A bit about you
You are food obsessed. You love
fine dining as much as you love a good burger- and take pride in cooking either
perfectly. You understand seasonality and sustainability in the kitchen. You
understand what British produce is all about, and love to present the most
beautiful plates around.
You understand how the kitchen
works, from bottom to top. And most of all- you love your team- you know how to
train, motivate and lead by example. You are hands on and love spending your
time in the kitchen, not in front of a computer.
