Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Reading or Perth. Salary: £38,996 - £45,905 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Personal Assistant within our IT team. Reporting to the Group CIO (Chief Information Officer), you will provide high‑quality executive and administrative support to a newly appointed Director who is new to SSE, as well as working closely with members of the IT Leadership team. This role is ideal for an energetic, flexible PA who enjoys working at pace, adapting to changing priorities, and operating with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll be supporting a leader as they establish their role within the business, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys helping shape new ways of working and being part of something still evolving.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‑level, proactive support to the Group CIO, enabling effective leadership of the IT function and wider Directorate.
* Plan, structure and coordinate Executive Leadership Team meetings, including agendas, high‑quality pre‑reads, actions and tracking to ensure delivery.
* Support the development of executive‑level communications, reports and presentations, including drafting Monthly Reports and CIO materials.
* Act as an ambassador for the CIO, building strong relationships with Executive PAs, including GEC PAs and Members of the plc Board, and representing SSE and the CIO in communications with internal and external stakeholders.
* Own the local Safety Plan and act as a visible, active member of the SSE community, representing both the organisation and the IT/OT function.
Qualifications
* Proven experience supporting Directors or senior leaders, with a track record of operating with high levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex priorities, exercise sound judgement and work calmly under pressure while consistently moving at pace.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, high‑quality reports, presentations and executive‑level communications.
* Ability to build trusted relationships across senior stakeholder groups, acting as a conduit for feedback and providing insight to inform leadership decision‑making.
* Confidence using all Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel (including charts) and PowerPoint, with strong presentation‑production capability.
