A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Systems Design Engineer to join a leading defence organisation, supporting the development and sustainment of advanced missile systems.

This role performs the duties of systems design and reports to the senior management team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver systems design activities at missile level for a major obsolescence programme within the defence domain
* Lead the bid strategy for systems engineering as part of the programme
* Coordinate multiple sub-system stakeholders to ensure compliance with design assurance and certification requirements
* Provide technical management, guiding trade studies and ensuring robust systems engineering practices across the lifecycle
The ideal candidate would have:
* Experience in defence or aerospace systems engineering, particularly in requirements management, use case analysis, system architecture design and justification, and traceability
* Familiarity with interface definition, design assurance, verification planning, and certification processes in a safety-critical defence environment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation for stakeholders and assurance bodies
* Effective verbal communication, listening and time management skills
* A proactive mindset with a desire to expand systems engineering expertise and enhance engineering methods within defence programmes
The ideal candidate must have:
* Proficiency in Rational DOORS, with proven experience in creating and managing requirement modules and verification modules within formal change processes
