We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Peterborough, starting as soon as possible. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will foster independence, resilience, and a love of learning while ensuring all pupils make excellent academic progress. Collaboration with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents is central to ensuring each pupil receives personalised support.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
* Deliver engaging literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject lessons
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL
* Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
* Maintain a structured, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
* Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
* Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
* Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives
* Support enrichment activities, school events, and extra-curricular opportunities
* Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
* Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
* Work collaboratively as part of a professional, supportive team
