Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to lead and deliver marketing, communications and promotional activity across One Leisure and Burgess Hall Conference and Events Centre. This role will develop and implement strategies that increase engagement, participation and income, while promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire.
You will oversee digital and print communications, including websites, social media and the One Leisure App, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all channels. Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders—including members, partners, schools, contractors, and local community groups—you will deliver targeted campaigns and promotional initiatives that meet the needs of diverse audiences.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience in marketing within the leisure, events or hospitality sectors, with proven skills in campaign delivery, budget management, and project coordination. You will be highly organised, digitally literate, and confident in influencing colleagues and senior management to adopt innovative marketing approaches.

About the role
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality, engaging experience for the community across One Leisure and Burgess Hall Conference and Events Centre. The purpose of the role is to plan, develop, and implement marketing and communications strategies that increase participation, maximise attendance and drive income, while promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire District Council services.
Working closely with colleagues across Leisure, Events and Council teams, you will translate HDC's vision into effective campaigns, ensuring communications are clear, consistent, and impactful. You will also engage with external stakeholders including members, partners, schools, and community groups, ensuring our services remain responsive to local needs and opportunities.

For many of our roles (and where it is possible) we are currently working remotely and anticipate in the future returning to a hybrid office model on a flexible basis. This will still include work from home and flexi-time opportunities in order to provide a good work life balance whilst still ensuring that teams benefit from in person interaction. Candidates should therefore be within commutable distance of our offices in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire or able to attend meetings as required if further afield.
Responsibilities
* Plan, develop and implement marketing and communications strategies that increase participation, maximise attendance and drive income across One Leisure and Burgess Hall.
* Oversee digital and print communications, including websites, social media and the One Leisure App, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
* Deliver targeted campaigns and promotional initiatives that meet the needs of diverse audiences; engage with internal teams and external stakeholders (members, partners, schools, contractors, community groups).
* Coordinate campaigns and projects with multiple stakeholders, manage budgets and timelines, and monitor effectiveness.
* Translate the Council's vision into clear, compelling communications that are responsive to local needs and opportunities.
Qualifications and attributes
* Experience in marketing within the leisure, events or hospitality sectors with proven campaign delivery skills.
* Experience with budget management and project coordination.
* Highly organised, digitally literate, with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to influence colleagues and senior management to adopt innovative marketing approaches.
* Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team; able to adapt to changing priorities and maintain customer-focused service.
* Motivated by making a tangible impact and promoting a positive image of Huntingdonshire District Council's services and facilities.
