Essex County Council (ECC) is supporting Castle Point Borough Council in recruiting a Sales and Customer Services Officer on a part-time, permanent basis.

The Opportunity
This role involves operating front-of-house reception at our leisure facilities at Waterside Farm and Runnymede leisure centre. It is a customer-facing position requiring excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and a friendly approach.
You will also promote and generate income through marketing, booking, and selling memberships, goods, and services.
Responsibilities
1. Promote sales and lead generation for memberships, swimming lessons, and secondary sales.
2. Handle payments and bookings using the Gladstone 360 leisure system, including operating and managing customer flow.
3. Reconcile float cash and card receipts at the end of shifts.
4. Respond to queries via leisure inbox, phone calls, and face-to-face interactions.
5. Coordinate with team members for booking setups and centre operations.
6. Serve refreshments and maintain cleanliness of reception and refreshment areas.
7. Adhere to food safety regulations and handle food and drinks safely.
8. Follow emergency evacuation procedures as trained.
9. Support marketing and promotion of leisure services.
Candidate Requirements
* Customer service experience
* Cash handling and financial procedures experience
* Good IT skills
Working Pattern
The role follows a two-week rota cycle.
