About the role
As a Senior Information Assurance Manager you will lead the Data Assurance Team responsible for overseeing data governance and assurance activities on DVLA’s data customers. You will manage a portfolio of customers requesting electronic access to DVLA data, ensuring that assurance processes and risk profiling are carried out in line with the Agency’s Data Sharing Strategy and coordinating GIAA assurance activities.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of compliance and assurance activities for all DVLA data customers and ensure contractual compliance activities are effectively coordinated.
* Provide expert advice, guidance, and direction on handling, use and security of DVLA data.
* Act as the main contact for the Agency’s Complaints, FOI, and Ministerial teams in managing data release‑related correspondence, investigations and complaints.
* Identify, raise and resolve assurance issues promptly.
* Manage and support a team of Data Assurance Compliance Officers, fostering professional development and maintaining high standards of performance.
* Coordinate the delivery of contractual compliance activities conducted by the GIAA on behalf of DVLA, ensuring effective communication and intelligence sharing across data customer portfolios.
Key qualifications
* ISO 9001 – Lead Auditor certification and CQI/IRCA qualification.
* Practitioner Certificate in General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
* Management of Risk (MoR) – Foundation Level or Practitioner Certificate in Information Risk Management (PCIRM).
* Experience in assurance, risk or data management roles.
* Commercial awareness and contract assurance knowledge.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience managing teams and driving continuous improvement.

Working hours and location
Full‑time, 37 hours per week. Minimum 32 hours for part‑time candidates. Hybrid working with a requirement to work at least 60 % at a principal workplace. Travel to stakeholder meetings may be required.
