Job Title: Graduate / Junior Urban Designer
Location: Newport
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Role:
We’re looking for a talented and motivated Graduate or Junior Urban Designer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone at the start of their career, or with up to a few years of experience, to get hands-on involvement in real, on-the-ground projects from day one.
The role offers a unique chance to contribute to major town planning and masterplanning work currently underway across multiple sites in Wales. From shaping new communities to revitalising existing urban areas, you'll be at the heart of impactful work — making this a fantastic platform to kick-start your urban design career.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the design and planning of urban and residential developments across a range of Welsh sites
* Produce high-quality drawings, graphics, and reports using hand sketching, CAD, and Adobe software
* Collaborate with planners, architects, and other consultants to develop thoughtful, practical design solutions
* Attend site visits and team meetings to support live projects
* Contribute ideas from concept stage through to planning submissions
What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field
* Strong graphic communication skills, particularly hand sketching and CAD
* Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
* Familiarity with Vectorworks is a bonus – training can be provided
* A genuine interest in town planning and residential masterplanning
* Eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative team environment
