Overview
Band 7 PPU Cardiac Physiologist - Echocardiography. Part-time position of 22.5 hours per week, based at the Royal Free Hospital. BSE accredited, to join the Royal Free NHS Private Practice Unit (PPU) and contribute to the development of cardiac diagnostics within the PPU.
The Private Practice Unit (PPU) at the Royal Free delivers high-quality medical and surgical specialist services to patients at local, national and international levels. Cardiac diagnostics, including basic and complex echocardiography, are a key component of care delivery for these services.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality trans-thoracic echocardiography to in-patients and out-patients attending the Royal Free PPU, and support the NHS service.
* Support a team of cardiologists with an interest in echocardiography to perform more complex studies, including bubble, contrast and treadmill and pharmacological stress echocardiography, as well as trans-oesophageal echocardiography.
* Deliver a range of other non-invasive cardiac diagnostics including Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitors.
* Work with the PPU Medical Director and Cardiologists to further develop cardiac diagnostics within the PPU.
Qualifications
* BSE accreditation (or equivalent).
* Ability to perform and interpret transthoracic studies independently.
