Site Director - Food Manufacturing
Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire
We are a well-established and growing food manufacturing business seeking to appoint a Site Director to lead our production facility in Clitheroe. This is a senior leadership role with full site accountability, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and build a high-performing culture.
The Role
As Site Director, you will have full responsibility for the operational performance of the site. You will lead across production, supply chain, engineering, quality, and people, ensuring delivery against safety, service, cost, and quality objectives.
This role requires a strong, visible leader who can inspire teams, embed continuous improvement, and deliver sustainable results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational leadership for the site, aligning local objectives with wider business goals
* Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and collaboration
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving
* Own site performance across production, quality, service, and cost metrics
* Lead end-to-end supply chain operations including planning, materials, warehousing, and logistics
* Deliver operational efficiency improvements, including OEE and cost of conversion
* Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, health & safety, and environmental standards
* Manage site budgets, capital investment, and financial performance (P&L accountability)
* Act as the key site representative for internal and external stakeholders, including customers and auditors
* Support delivery of key projects including capital investment and new product introduction
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role within food or FMCG manufacturing
* Strong track record of leading multi-functional teams in a high-speed production environment
* Experience delivering operational improvements and driving performance against KPIs
* Strong understanding of supply chain, planning, and manufacturing processes
* Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and site-level performance
* Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Food Science, Business, or related field
* Lean / Continuous Improvement experience highly desirable
