Job Description
Summary/objective
Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The General Sanitation Central Hub is responsible for the cleanliness of the Central Hub Distribution areas, ensuring designated areas are audit-ready at all times. The General Warehouse Sanitation must be able to cross-train and perform Sanitation Technician duties.
Essential functions
1. Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position. Position is required to work all hours necessary to ensure operations function is fulfilled, including nights, weekends, holidays.
2. Required to clean the operational areas of the Central Hub Distribution Center, including the interior and exterior areas of the building on a daily basis.
3. Complete daily assignments in compliance with the Warehouse Master Cleaning Schedule.
4. Sweep and mop all assigned areas, keeping the work area clean and free of debris.
5. Wipe down yellow/red barriers, yellow poles, support poles, stairs handrails, and pole protection barriers using cleaning solution.
6. Pull empty pallets, damaged product and shrink wrap out of the pick areas and move to collection areas.
7. Clean and wipe down water refrigerators across the operational areas.
8. Use high pressure water hoses and squeegees to clean the floors.
9. Remove and dump trash from trash cans and roll dumpsters. Wash trash cans and roll dumpster periodically and as needed.
10. Recycle operations – Sort and dispose of damaged items in the respective recycle bins. Move bins in and out of work areas as needed or filled.
11. Bail the cardboard and plastic waste from the operational process using the compactors.
12. Clean the docks doors including sweep and mop dock plates, wipe down doors and clean cobwebs.
13. Must keep all sanitation supplies in their proper place and notify Shift Lead Sanitation when running low.
14. Must be able to run a Tenant Scrubber, as designed by manufacturer, utilizing the Infolink computer system. Must scrub all assigned areas daily.
15. Communicate with Lead/Supervisor throughout shift about the assigned tasks and any issues.
16. Identify needs and assist other areas when appropriate.
17. Adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
18. Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow the BRC safety practices.
19. Make sound decisions and multitask simultaneously without constant supervision.
20. Required to follow the Good Manufacturing Program GMPs as listed in Code of Federal Regulations CFR 21 section. Requires participation in various Food Safety related training that Buffalo Rock utilizes. Required to report potential issues related to Food Safety.
21. Clean other equipment as assigned.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.

23. All tasks within the warehouse are physically demanding and labor-intensive. Employees within this role are required to:
24. Must be able to move up and down steps to gain access to cleaning areas.
25. Must be able to bend under machinery and conveyors to clean, sweep, and mop.
26. Lift product up to 30 pounds on a repetitive basis per shift and up to 50 pounds intermittently throughout shift
27. Periodic lifting above shoulder height
28. Move and stack pallets weighing up to 65 pounds throughout shift.
29. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach and climb up and down stairs throughout shift.
30. Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth). Must be able to distinguish between red, green, and “off” lights.
31. Ability to work in a fast paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
32. Sense of Sound - Hearing is required for the total workday.
33. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – high visibility shirt or safety vest, slip resistant shoes, mask, eye protection, etc.
34. Position requires physical presence within Vertique system at the Central Hub.
Required education and experience
35. Education:High School Diploma or GED; Preferred
36. At least 6 months of experience in a warehouse environment; Preferred
