Our Spalding site has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Support Operator to join our friendly team on a full-time permanent basis.
As the Transport Support Operator, you will be responsible for the performance of the transport function in delivering an efficient, compliant, and service-driven operation.
Shift: 4 on 4 off, 7pm-7am.
Salary: £26,640-£31,889 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Duties of a Transport Support Operator:
* Despatching outbound drivers, ensuring that correct paperwork is issued, and that all instructions regarding collections and deliveries are clear and understood.
* Monitoring vehicle progress at all stages of its journey using appropriate systems and communication methods.
* Ensuring any delays or issues potentially affecting performance are escalated appropriately.
* Using customer or retailer systems to ensure bookings are made, amended, or progress updated as necessary.
* Assisting in resolving operational issues as appropriate, liaising with drivers, customers, delivery points, or other stakeholders as required.
* Collating and presenting KPIs or other operational information as directed to demonstrate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
* Liaising with internal departments such as Warehouse, Finance, Fleet, and KAMs to ensure performance is optimized.
* Assisting other operational departments as directed to ensure operational or legal compliance, including vehicle downloads, condition checks, incident investigations, and breakdown management.
Qualifications:
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
* Positive and adaptable attitude.
* Excellent communication skills for delivering accurate information.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
* Effective prioritization to meet deadlines.
* Good computer literacy, particularly MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
