Job Description

Bromborough | January 2025 – Summer 2026 | 4 Days per Week

New Directions Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bromborough. This role will be based in the F1 (Nursery) class, working 4 days per week from January 2025 through to Summer 2026.

Role responsibilities:

1. Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities
2. Assist with the daily routines of the F1 class, including personal care where needed
3. Help children develop early communication, social and motor skills
4. Create a positive, nurturing learning environment for all pupils

What we’re looking for:

5. Experience working in EYFS / Nursery (essential)
6. A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
7. A caring, enthusiastic and patient approach
8. Team player who can build great relationships with staff and pupils

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

9. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
10. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
11. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
12. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
13. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

Jobs in additional learning needs (ALN)

A large number of our jobs are in ALN and we fill many vacancies in schools with candidates who have particular experience in working with children classified as having:

14. Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
15. Dyslexia
16. Dyspraxia
17. Multi-Sensory Impairment (MSI)
18. Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
19. Profound and Moderate Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
20. Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
21. Severe Learning Difficulties
22. Physical Disabilities (PD).

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:

23. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
24. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
25. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
26. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
27. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
