We are looking for an experienced Customer Engineer - Thermal to join our team in Bedford, United Kingdom!

As Customer Engineer - Thermal, you will be responsible for start-up, maintenance, and emergency repairs of Vertiv Air Conditioning products, as well as other contracted systems. You will need to establish, promote, and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, salespeople, distributors, and others within the area. Maintain continuous communication with Call Control and the department Manager/Supervisor.


What kind of work will you be doing?

* Respond, in a professional manner, to all assigned service calls while on duty.
* Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with established company safety policy.
* Perform all work using good working practices and current codes of practice/legislation relevant to assigned tasks.
* Ensure spare parts are properly accounted for using established parts procedures.
* Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a minimum of 90%.
* Assist call control to schedule, plan, and complete any works as required, using established workflow procedures.
* Keep call control informed of your schedule and the status of all open jobs.
* Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting errors with the site change form.
* Ensure that all ISO 9001:2000 agreed processes are followed.
* Submit daily paperwork in a timely, accurate, and complete manner, and in case of Wireless Field Service, ensure the job is debriefed in a complete and accurate manner at the customer’s premises where possible.
* Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota.
* Provide on-site technical assistance with difficult problems.
* Work closely & assist department supervisors, salespeople, contracts engineers, & managers with their day-to-day operational duties.
* Attend customer meetings as required.

What will make you successful?

* Experience of working in a technical service or test environment of Air Conditioning equipment is essential.
* Computer literate (all office-associated programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Previous field service experience is essential.
* Self-starter, ability to plan, organize, and manage time effectively with an ability to work under pressure.
