Are you an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality fire suppression designs? Do you want to work on large scale, exciting projects? We have recently established a dedicated fire sprinkler division to support the in-house delivery of fire suppression systems across a range of high-profile and complex projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and growing this capability within the business.
As a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will be responsible for all fire suppression design elements, supporting the delivery of large and complex projects. You will be part of a project delivery team, based either in one of our offices or on-site. Occasional travel across the UK will be required to carry out site surveys, attend meetings, review progress, and mark up drawings.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare sprinkler system designs for a range of applications, including large and small works, in line with LPC Rules, NFPA, and FM standards
* Take full design responsibility throughout the project lifecycle
* Produce technical documentation, installation drawings, and coordinated models
* Complete hydraulic calculations
* Carry out site surveys where required
* Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and project specifications
* Specify appropriate equipment for each project
* Prepare and submit end-of-project documentation (e.g., O & M manuals, as‑fitted drawings, certification)
* Attend and contribute to client review meetings
* Coordinate with external subcontractors as part of a multi‑disciplinary design team
* Liaise with suppliers and key stakeholders
Quality & Compliance
* Comply with all company and regulatory processes
* Participate in internal and third‑party audits
* Consult with subject matter experts where required
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on health and safety
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
* Strong working knowledge of BS EN 12845 and LPS 1048 standards
* LPCB Basic, Intermediate, or FHC qualifications are desirable
* Knowledge of FM and NFPA standards would be advantageous
* Proven experience in technical design and the production of drawings and documentation
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Canute FHC design software
* Experience with HydraCAD, Autosprink, or similar design tools is advantageous
