Key duties and responsibilities:
Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturers specification
Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines
Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department
Working closely with the service supervisor
Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers
Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturers specification and any regulations affecting their use
Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential)
Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
Good IT skills
A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
