Action Staffing Ltd is exclusively recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join a high-achieving childcare team in Wales. This is a critical leadership role designed for an ambitious professional ready to support the operational success of a thriving nursery while driving excellence in Foundation Phase practice.
The Opportunity
This role offers an excellent balance of Clinical Room Leadership and Operational Management. As the Deputy Manager, you will work in close partnership with the Nursery Manager to oversee a dedicated team of Level 3 and Level 5 Practitioners, ensuring the highest standards of care and education for children across Wales.
Key Responsibilities
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the setting consistently meets and exceeds CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales) regulations and the National Minimum Standards (NMS) for Regulated Childcare.
* Pedagogical Leadership: Lead the implementation of the Foundation Phase and the Curriculum for Wales, mentoring staff on observation-led planning and creative play.
* Operational Support: Support the daily running of the nursery, including staff rotas, occupancy tracking, and robust Safeguarding procedures.
* Staff Mentoring: Provide hands‑on coaching to the team, fostering a culture of professional growth and high‑quality early years pedagogy.
* Parent & Community Engagement: Build strong, professional relationships with families and external agencies, ensuring the nursery remains a trusted pillar of the local community.
Candidate Requirements
* Qualifications: Full and relevant Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD). Possession of or working towards a Level 5 Management qualification is highly desirable.
* Experience: Proven track record in a Senior Room Leader, Third-in-Charge, or Deputy role within a registered Welsh childcare setting.
* Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Safeguarding Children in Wales procedures and the All Wales Child Protection Procedures.
* Skills: Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to maintaining “Good” or “Excellent” CIW ratings.
