We are looking for a Finance Operations analyst to join our Finance Operations Team in Edinburgh on a 12 Months Fixed Term basis. The Team are responsible for the integrity and controls operating over the financial transactions within Aegon UK’s ledgers, ensuring they are robust, effective and accurate. In this role you will support the day-to-day delivery of Finance Operations, ensuring high-quality service aligned to standards and deadlines. Key Responsibilities include: Being responsible for preparing and reviewing journals, accruals & prepayments, day to day bank & balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of accounts to trial balance level. Reviewing Trial Balances and performing analytical reviews across all entities on balances, movements and trends for completeness before inclusion in financial reporting. Representing Finance Operations on local & corporate initiatives to ensure that all risks, controls & accounting are captured, through design & reconciliation. Experience of using continuous improvement tools through to implementation Leading the review of end to end processing to continually improve the process for efficiency, mitigate risks and enhance controls. Support the execution of various audits and financial close deliverables within Finance Operations, serving as the main point of contact for auditors, coordinating responses and addressing technical questions. Drive continuous improvement within the team to enhance process efficiency and maintain a robust control environment by leading the creation of plans and identifying and implementing effective solutions. We’d love to hear from you if you have: Experience of Financial Services general ledger and technical accounting Strong understanding of accounting frameworks and ability to articulate technical concepts. Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking, and an eye for detail and passion for accuracy Experience of banking processes and systems Have or studying towards ACCA, AAT or equivalent What’s in it for you?
