A2B Social Care have a superb opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join the team in a small, nurturing 4 bed residential children’s home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Melksham.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage shifts, ensuring all aspects of the home’s daily routines and care delivery run smoothly.
* Provide direct care and support to children, using trauma-informed approaches to promote emotional, physical, and social development.
* Assist with care planning, key working sessions, and the completion of accurate daily records and reports.
* Support the Deputy and Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
* Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff members, promoting best practice and professional development.
* Contribute to safeguarding procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of all children at all times.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families, social workers, and other professionals.
* Take part in the on-call rota and cover shifts where required.
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (Residential Childcare) or equivalent.
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting, preferably supporting young people with EBD.
* Experience in a senior or shift-leading role (desirable).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and relevant childcare legislation.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
Salary
£28,608 plus sleeps paid at £65 per sleep, working 1 on 2 off shifts plus career progression opportunities and an extensive benefits package.
