About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCo to join our specialist independent SEN school in South East London. Starting in September 2025, this full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a well-established and supportive team focused on delivering outstanding educational outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs.
As part of our Ofsted-rated “Good” school, you will work within a dynamic SENCo team, which includes our Deputy Head – SEND and Inclusion – and benefit from dedicated SEND administrative support. With 160 students all holding EHCPs, our SENCo team plays a crucial role in ensuring effective provision, targeted support, and meaningful outcomes for every learner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage SEN provision for a caseload of students with EHCPs
* Collaborate with the Deputy Head – SEND and Inclusion, fellow SENCos, and support staff to ensure high-quality and compliant SEND practice
* Monitor, review, and update EHCPs, working closely with external agencies and families
* Support and train staff to implement effective strategies and inclusive practices in the classroom
* Ensure that all aspects of SEND provision are compliant with current legislation and best practices
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo)
* Proven experience in a SEN setting, ideally with a background in managing EHCPs and leading SEND provision
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting students with complex needs
