Key Responsibilities: Conduct clinical assessments to ensure individuals in custody are fit for detention, interview, transfer, or release. Manage minor illnesses and injuries, referring more serious cases as appropriate. Perform forensic examinations, including recording injuries and collecting DNA evidence. Assess and provide care for police officers or staff injured on duty. Collect specimens in compliance with relevant legislation, including the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Prepare written statements and provide oral testimony when required. Conduct thorough assessments for alcohol and drug intoxication, withdrawal, mental health issues, and learning disabilities. Collaborate with clinical leads to support the development of medical services and uphold organisational policies on Equality, Diversity, and Information Governance. Applicant Requirements: Registered Nurse (Band 5) with NMC registration or qualified Paramedic with HCPC registration. Experience working in a custody, emergency, or urgent care setting is highly desirable. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Knowledge of forensic procedures and legal frameworks, including the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
