As an experienced leader, you will be responsible for leading a team which includes drivers, administrators, and drivers’ mates to ensure safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective deliveries to our customers.
You will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while managing daily operations, using your leadership skills to motivate and inspire staff to achieve and adhere to health & safety standards.
You will be accountable for ensuring compliance with transport legislation and implementing cost-effective enhancements to improve the service we offer.
Key Accountabilities
* Ensure all items delivered meet customer specifications with minimal wastage.
* Achieve company quality and productivity targets within the department and depot.
* Communicate proactively with internal and external customers, line managers, and the customer service team regarding operational issues.
* Maintain staff performance, identify training needs, and conduct 1:2:1 sessions and performance reviews, including disciplinary investigations.
* Ensure all vehicles and equipment are operated in compliance with current driver and vehicle legislation and company policies.
* Ensure drivers and mates are aware of and comply with all relevant health & safety and fire regulations, and always wear the approved uniform and safety gear.
* Investigate infringements through de-briefs and escalate as necessary.
About you

* Management/Leadership experience in FMCG or logistics is essential.
* Excellent communication skills for accurate information delivery to customers and management.
* Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
* Professional, approachable, and helpful to ensure smooth operations.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Must hold a Transport Management CPC.
* IOSH Managing Safely knowledge is desirable.
