Technical Support and Intelligence Manager
West Northamptonshire Council is seeking to appoint a Technical Support and Intelligence Manager to lead our Technical Support and Intelligence Team. You will work with a range of partners, including the Police, Fire and Rescue, Immigration, HMRC, and others, to ensure residents are safeguarded and afforded safe accommodation.
What will you be doing?
Across the Private Sector Housing functions, you will lead Technical Support Officers and an Intelligence Officer. The team supports statutory housing duties by investigating disrepair, criminal activities, and unlicensed properties, and by gathering intelligence about the standards and occupation of properties across West Northamptonshire.
Effective communication is essential. You will collect, review, interpret, and store a wide range of intelligence information sources to direct the team’s response to the detection and prevention of crime.
The role is hybrid, with 2 days working from home and 3 days on site across West Northamptonshire. A UK driving licence and vehicle access are essential.
About you
To be successful in the role you will already hold:
* A relevant degree and demonstrable experience in gathering, managing, analysing, and storing intelligence.
* A management qualification, or significant experience in leading, supporting, and motivating change.
* Existing knowledge of the Housing Act 2004 and of local authorities’ regulatory and enforcement powers relating to private sector housing conditions and landlords would be an advantage.
In addition, you will have:
* Confidence and passion to ensure residents have safe and sustainable accommodation across the private rented sector.
