Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Bristol, is currently looking to recruit an Architect Surveyor for a permanent part-time position, offering a salary of £38,067 (Pro Rata).
Responsibilities:
1. Partnerships teams are responsible for delivering discretionary services in regional offices, working with local partners to improve quality of life through heritage conservation and creative reuse.
2. The team advocates for care, conservation, and creative reuse of heritage assets, often working on projects spanning months or years.
3. Members bring diverse skills from various professional backgrounds, including advocacy, engagement, research, grant-giving, project management, capacity building, and repair and conservation.
4. As key members, architects and surveyors advise partners on proposals for repair and alteration of heritage assets and provide guidance on changes in historic townscapes and landscapes.
5. Requirements include a professional qualification in architecture or building surveying, current ARB registration or chartered RICS membership, and accreditation in building conservation (AABC, RIBA SCA level, or RICS), or working towards these.
6. Extensive experience in building repair and project management is essential.
7. Good knowledge of English secular and ecclesiastical architecture across periods.
8. Excellent understanding of building construction, repair, alteration, and adaptation methods.
9. Ability to approach repair problems practically and creatively.
10. Awareness of current construction industry regulations.
