A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) in Paediatric dysphagia to join our Children's team in Bradford. You will support paediatric patients from newborns to 18 years with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties, and collaborate with colleagues within the wider multidisciplinary team.
Main duties
* Work as part of an established paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team, providing assessment, therapy, advice and support to our paediatric population and their families (0–18 years) with eating, drinking and swallowing needs.
* Assess, develop and implement specialist SLT treatment plans.
* Manage a caseload of complex paediatric dysphagia cases.
* Offer specialist clinical advice, training and support to SLT colleagues and other professionals in paediatric dysphagia.

Person Specification
* Essential Qualifications
o Registered Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC
o RCSLT Registration
o SLT Degree/Dip Qualification
* Essential Knowledge and Skills
o Excellent knowledge of therapeutic approaches relevant to paediatric dysphagia
o Experience of multi-professional/multi-agency working
o Ability to mentor SLT new graduates, SLT generalists and Clinical Support Workers
o Ability to work independently on general cases with support for complex cases
o Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
* Experience
o In-depth experience with paediatric eating and drinking difficulties (0–18 years)
o Experience in a multidisciplinary team
o Experience supporting pre-graduate SLT students, clinical support workers and junior colleagues
o Experience training others (e.g., parents, staff, professionals)
o Experience in various health, social, educational and residential settings
o Experience working with bilingual assistants and interpreters
* Desirable
o Post-graduate training in dysphagia (RCSLT accredited)
o Post-graduate training in neonates or children under 1 year
o Post-graduate training and experience of complex airway issues (e.g., tracheostomy)
