Behaviour Intervention Specialist – SEN / SEMH | West Yorkshire
Locations: Wakefield (WF2), Huddersfield (HD5), Leeds (LS10), Bradford (BD18, BD23)
Daily Rate: £95–£110/day | Contract: Full-time, term-time | Start Date: ASAP
We are recruiting a Behaviour Intervention Specialist to work with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs in specialist and alternative provision schools across West Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver structured behaviour interventions to support pupils at risk of exclusion
* Work 1:1 and with small groups to develop positive behaviours and coping strategies
* Mentor pupils to re-engage with learning and build resilience
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support plans
* Track and report progress, contributing to EHCP reviews where appropriate
Requirements:
* Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or in PRU/alternative provision
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, during school hours
* Empathy, patience, and resilience
Desirable:
* Youth work, counselling, care, or ex-forces experience
* HLTA or teaching experience in SEN settings
* Psychology, education, or SEMH specialism

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
