I am making enquiries on behalf of my elderly mother who is disabled and housebound and sadly has been admitted to hospital recently. This is becoming more frequent that she is admitted to hospital and I usually take Penny to my home until my mother returns back to her home, however sadly I can no longer do this as my boss will no longer allow me to work from home to take care of the dog and there is no one else to do it. I am just trying to find out what help is available out there in terms of looking after a dog whilst their owner is in hospital and also the costs. My mum would be heartbroken if she had to give her up completely. Penny is a lovely dog with a nice temperament though she can be a bit of a growler to other dogs but I think because she gets anxious near them. She is super friendly and mostly just lays in her bed and enjoys short walks. She is house trained and lets you know when she needs to go out by standing by the door. She is quiet but will let you know if someone is at the door by barking. I used to tell her off for doing that but she would still bark, I soon learned that when I acknowledged she was trying to tell me or warn me of something by saying good girl Penny well done and pet her she would then stop barking as her job was done. I think she is about 12 years old but not entirely sure as my mum gets muddled up about this. If Penny is a dog you think you could look after temporarily then please get in touch.
