BHSCT Interventional Radiology Ward Manager Band 7
To organise, control and actively participate in the provision of the Interventional Radiology imaging services for the Belfast Trust. The post holder must ensure that a high quality, efficient and effective service is always available including the delivery of the emergency out of hours services. The post holder, working collaboratively with radiography and medical staff, is required to maximise resources and skills to deliver a patient and family focused service based on professional excellence and personal accountability.
Responsibilities
* To perform all duties of the post in accordance with NMC guidelines, Trust and Directorate policies, including Health and Safety at Work Order (2015), Ionising Radiation Regulations (NI) 2017 and Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations (NI)
* Ensure that organisational goals are reflected in own and the nursing teams’ objectives and in ward / department plans.
* Contribute to the development of the Trust’s policies and strategies, where appropriate.
* Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with the NMC Code (2008), standards and professional guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years’ post registration experience
* A minimum of 2 years working as a Band 6 deputy sister / charge nurse with practical experience in an Interventional Radiology environment.
* Nursing Degree - Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the live NMC Register (General Adult Branch).
* Provide evidence of a recognised Nursing or Leadership & Management qualification or willing to undertake same.
* Provide evidence of continuous personal and professional development.
