We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, reliable, innovative, and flexible individual to lead our friendly and dedicated team in Haematology and Blood Transfusion across ESNEFT laboratories at Ipswich and Colchester.
You will manage staff within the Haematology and Blood Transfusion departments across ESNEFT, deputising for the Head of Operations when required. Your role involves working closely with Laboratory Managers, the Haematology & Blood Transfusion Compliance Manager, and the senior leadership team in Pathology. You will oversee the operational management of these specialties, providing scientific and technical leadership and development.
Responsibilities include implementing national policies, innovations, regulatory compliance, and best practices; providing specialist advice; ensuring accurate and efficient laboratory investigations; managing stock control and usage; maintaining Blood Transfusion stock levels and records; monitoring usage for efficiency; proposing and implementing policies for service improvement; communicating complex information effectively; training and motivating staff.
Both laboratories are MHRA compliant and UKAS accredited; hence, experience with UKAS and MHRA inspections is required. Candidates must be HCPC registered with higher qualifications suitable for the role, and possess current experience in Haematology and/or Blood Transfusion, with good knowledge of medical laboratory accreditation standards.
Leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to staff development are essential. We support staff development through internal and external training opportunities and encourage professional growth.
