Let’s Go Glasgow Business Improvement District (BID) is a newly formed, business-led organisation dedicated to improving Glasgow city centre. With a £14 million budget over a five-year term, the BID has both the scale and mandate to deliver transformative improvements across the city centre. Acting as a strong, credible voice for levy-paying businesses, the BID focuses on making Glasgow cleaner, safer and more vibrant - ensuring it thrives as a competitive destination for businesses, visitors and residents alike.

Role Purpose

The BID Projects Lead is a key member of the Let’s Go Glasgow BID management team. The postholder will work closely with the Chief Executive to translate the BID’s strategic priorities into operational delivery - ensuring the BID area of the city centre is clean, safe, well-managed and continually improving.

This is a delivery-focused role across place management, safety, cleaning, contract oversight and project delivery. The BID Projects Lead will be expected to take ownership of the BID’s operational programme and represent the organisation confidently with key partners.

Place Management, Safety and Cleansing

* Take operational responsibility for the BID’s place management activity, including cleaning, environmental quality and public realm.

* Conduct and oversee regular monitoring of the BID area, ensuring issues are identified, logged and resolved promptly.
* Advise on emergency planning, resilience and incident response arrangements on behalf of the BID.
* Drive continuous improvement in place quality, identifying opportunities to enhance the city centre environment.

Contract and Supplier Management

* Actively manage all BID contracts across cleaning, security, and related services.
* Set clear service standards, KPIs and reporting frameworks for all contracted suppliers.
* Monitor contractor performance, manage underperformance robustly and ensure value for money at all times.
* Maintain accurate contract documentation, variation records and performance evidence.

Project Delivery and Programme Management

* Oversee and coordinate the delivery of BID projects across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
* Maintain programme-level visibility of timelines, risks, dependencies and budgets.
* Report regularly to the Chief Executive on progress, risks and emerging priorities.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with Police Scotland, Glasgow City Council, transport partners and other key city centre stakeholders.
* Represent the BID at partnership forums, operational groups and city-centre working parties.
* Act as a senior point of contact for levy-paying businesses on operational and place-related matters.
