The Personal Learning Centre (PLC) The PLC is a small, dedicated classroom base designed to support students who are struggling in the main school setting. It provides a nurturing environment where students can access tailored interventions, curriculum support, and pastoral care. The PLC is led by a qualified teacher and supported by a team of HLTAs, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure student success. About the Role We are seeking a qualified and compassionate PLC Manager to lead our on-site Personal Learning Centre. This is a student-facing role that involves delivering aspects of the curriculum, managing a small team of HLTAs, and coordinating with school staff and external agencies. The ideal candidate will be flexible, resilient, and committed to supporting students with diverse needs. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the PLC and lead the HLTA team. Deliver curriculum content and interventions tailored to individual student needs. Assess students and plan personalised programmes that may include in-school and off-site provision. Liaise with internal support systems (e.g., counsellors, mentors, Year Leaders) and external agencies. Promote the PLC across the school community, including staff, students, and parents. Lead curriculum development within the PLC. Maintain accurate records and share relevant information with stakeholders. Provide training and support to staff on working with students in the PLC.
