Offer description

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team, in a busy, customer-focused environment specialising in globally influenced small plates, brunch and private events.

We are an established local independent operator, with a growing food following. We have recently employed a new Head Chef, so are looking to build a new kitchen team, to take us forward in to this next phase.

Our offer to our new Chef:

* £32,000 to £35,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a split of service charge & tips according to hours worked.
* 28 days holiday per year.
* Average working week of 45 hours.
* Company pension scheme.

What we look for in our new Chef:

Our ideal candidate would be an experienced Junior Sous/Sous, with strong restaurant experience. We would like a dynamic self motivated chef with a positive engaging attitude, who has a passion for fresh, seasonal produce and be interested in working for a local independent business.

* Have experience championing excellent service through quality food.
* Be an active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills.
* Be able to demonstrate your creativity, by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus.
* Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
* Ensure food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed in the kitchen.
* Assist in supervising kitchen staff and coordinating food production activities.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
* Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service.
* Contribute to menu development and special event preparations as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
