Ferrier Pumps have a wide client base which ranges from Agricultural, Oil & Gas, Marine, Biogas, Brewing & Distilling, Water & Power Leisure, and Food Processing.
Due to company growth, we now require an experienced
Mechanical Fitter
to join our team.
The ideal candidate would be an experienced mechanical fitter with experience on pipework installation as well as mechanical maintenance of commercial, industrial, municipal wastewater, water treatment plants and pump stations.
The position will be divided between our Contracts and Service divisions, based in Glasgow.
Responsibilities
* Role primarily involves mechanical installation and maintenance work in the industrial sector
* Carry out routine mechanical maintenance & repairs of pumps, motors and packaged pumping systems
* Pipework installations mainly in and around pumping stations
* Completion of daily reports and H&S forms as required for day to day works on sites
* Carry out risk assessments on each job as required and raise any concerns with line manager
* Ensure all repair and maintenance work is carried out in an efficient, safe manner and in line with current H&S legislation
* Inspection & fault finding on pumps and pump system
Requirements
Skills/Attributes
* Experience in industrial service & maintenance
* Technical knowledge & proven experience working with pipework, pumps, motors, valves etc.
* Familiarity with treatment processes being utilised in the water and wastewater industry
* Strong teamwork abilities
* Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Must be able to think on own initiative
* Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
