An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for two experienced individuals to provide clinical leadership and expertise within our General Surgery wards: Firth 8 and Firth 3.
The service provides care for surgical patients undergoing investigation, intervention, and surgery.
* Recognised teaching qualification with proven ability to provide clinical support and education
* Evidence of academic achievement or working towards Degree level of study.
* Proven evidence of leadership skills
* Highly developed communication skills across disciplines
* Evidence of participation in audit and research
* Evidence of managing change
* An understanding of patient flow in a busy acute area
* Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
This vacancy is advertised on a permanent contract basis.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high standards of nursing care to a diverse range of patients and support to carers on the ward.
Lead a team of qualified, support and student team members.
Take charge of the ward / department.
Support the Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered.

* Registered Nurse (valid with NMC)
* Completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998
* Evidence of academic achievement or working towards Degree level of study
