We are seeking a registered veterinary nurse with a strong interest in delivering specialised nursing care to patients dealing with chronic medical, acute medical, and oncology conditions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our specialist clinicians, residents, interns, and medicine/oncology nurses to ensure the delivery of top-notch care to our patients.
Your responsibilities will include active involvement in daily case management, encompassing tasks such as assisting with anaesthesia, conducting diagnostic and medical procedures (including endoscopy and interventional procedures like bronchial and tracheal stent placement). Additionally, you will be engaged in providing nursing care to hospitalised medical patients, offering one-to-one intensive care unit (ICU) support, administering chemotherapeutic treatments, and managing blood transfusion medicine.
Who We Are
Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre, providing a variety of interesting cases and opportunity to improve your skills. The practice has in the region of 80 nurses across the hospital, the wards team includes day, twilight and night nurses supported by VCAs.
We are located in the South of England, close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast, offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. The area also offers good access to regional and international airports, with excellent road and rail links to London.
Qualities We Seek
We are looking for a dynamic individual with high attention to detail and an empathetic approach to patient care. You should possess the confidence to take initiative and actively contribute to the care of our patients. Previous experience in a referral practice is beneficial.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent role, working 40 hours per week with 1:5 weekends. We are happy to consider part-time applications and will be happy to discuss hours to suit you.
