Due to recent investment and restructure across the business this has created the need to appoint an experienced New Production Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join the team based in the Lancashire/ west riding of Yorkshire area. As the NPI Engineer you’ll regularly collaborate with external process partners including Rolls Royce, Airbus and Siemens and continue to develop your career to the next stage. This business has some of the best technology when it comes to machines capability that allows Three, Four and five axes CNC machining, in-house design capability, as well as highly skilled convention toolroom machining capability. As the new NPI Engineer, you’ll have the following key responsibilities. NPI – New Product Introduction - To collaborate with internal and external process partners to deliver NPI projects on time, and in full. To deliver a process capable of manufacturing right first time, every time to the Operations Team. Prove out all machining NPI activities in conjunction with the operations team In conjunction with Technical Department, define and develop cost effective methods of manufacture Create a tool life monitor for all new products Experience of customer APQP and PPAP requirements Create standard set up sheets for change over Carry out process capability studies Ability to manually over check CMM results using conventional inspection equipment {1st Principles) Review and use the BIQ/IPC documentation to ensure all drawing requirements are captured Work with Engineering and Operations teams to complete successful handover from NPI to Production Update and utilise lessons learned log for all NPI projects e.g. (PDCA) Transfer of data between customers and SAW Actively use and track MVA/FPD process with customer Continuous improvement - Collaborate with internal team In order to be successful in the NPI Engineer position you’ll ideally have the following skills and experience; Time Served Skilled Engineer/ HNC Qualified Effective communicator both written & verbal Demonstrated ability to solve problems Able to work unsupervised to ensure all above duties are completed Use of process capability software to drive process improvements Minitab will be an advantage Manufacturing Engineer experience is essential Experience in Aero Engine and Aerostructures manufacture would be advantageous These are the core duties and responsibilities however, additional tasks may be required to meet the needs of an agile business, following agreement with the Engineering Manager.
