Facilities Assistant Oldbury Contract type: 6 months fixed term contract Hours per week: 37.5 Salary: (Band 4) £26,530 DHU Healthcare is seeking a proactive and highly organised Estates Assistant to support the smooth and efficient running of our Birch House sites. As a key member of the Estates Team, you will act as the first point of contact for estates issues, working closely with property owners, landlords maintenance contractors, building users, and internal DHU colleagues. This is a hands on and varied role involving both site-based activity and administrative duties. You will support the coordination of reactive and planned maintenance, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and help maintain a high-quality, safe environment for all staff. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a busy and evolving team. What your typical day looks like: Supporting Estates issues that have been identified by the Estates Manager or Deputy Head of Estates & Health & safety Manager Taking part in the implementation of effective escalation policies, procedures and protocols that support front-line staff to resolve issues on the ground effectively and in a timely manner Support DHU managers with DSE assessments, following training, to reach an appropriate outcome for staff Contribute to the raising of purchase orders against quotations and reactive instructions Promote good working relationships and communications with all departments of DHU and stakeholders including commissioners and landlords/ agents Maintain established software and databases, making recommendation for improvements Provide attendance on construction sites or places where contractors are employed on behalf of DHU Hold a valid driving licence and be able to travel across all areas of DHU making regular visits to properties within the Estate as required Ensure that financial instructions are followed in order that quotations are generated for purchase orders To be a successful in this role, you will need: IOSH Managing Safely (desirable) Full clean UK driving licence Experience in the analysis of technical and complex data Basic working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, risk and standards What DHU can offer you: Working Patterns: We recognise that 9-5 doesn't work for everyone, so we have a range of working patterns available to suit your work/life balance.
