About The Role
As a Principal AWS Platform Engineer, you'll guide our customers in achieving cloud and DevOps excellence. Your expertise will be vital in designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and secure platforms, and in driving strategic initiatives aligned with customer goals.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a team of cloud consultants, fostering innovation and excellence in cloud adoption, and to contribute to the growth of Appvia's internal solutions team.

Security Clearance Requirements
* Active SC or eligibility to obtain SC
* British Passport or ILR
* Resided in the UK for the last 5 years
* No criminal records
* No financial irregularities
About You
You should be passionate about new technology and automation, with experience leading an engineering team in Agile and DevOps practices. You should be able to discuss:
* Expertise in CI/CD practices
* Collaboration across technical levels
* Leadership and mentorship skills
* Project management experience
* People skills and motivation capabilities
* Bid work and pre-sales experience
Responsibilities
* Define and execute cloud and DevOps strategies with clients
* Educate stakeholders on cloud-native benefits and practices
* Lead complex cloud projects, advising on technology choices
* Manage platform engineering teams and foster collaboration
* Engage with enterprise clients to develop tailored solutions
* Stay current with industry trends, sharing knowledge via blogs and videos
Skills
* Design and implement scalable, secure platforms
* Infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Ruby)
* Kubernetes and managed services (EKS, AKS, GKE)
* AWS, Azure, or GCP architecture and best practices
* CI/CD, containerization, serverless technologies
* Secure AWS network architecture (VPC, VPN, Load Balancers, Transit Gateway)
Experience
* Leading large cloud projects
* Managing and mentoring teams
* Engaging with enterprise clients
* Staying industry-current and sharing knowledge
Qualifications
* Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) at professional level, e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Advanced Networking
* Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKSS) desirable
