We are looking to recruit a motivated and committed Community Development Officer to join our Community Development team on a two year fixed term basis.
Working to core community development principles, you will support local communities across Crawley to identify needs, build capacity and develop solutions that improve quality of life. Community empowerment will be central to all aspects of the role.
You will work proactively and reactively with residents, voluntary and community organisations, partner agencies and council services to:
* enhance the capacity and contribution of the voluntary and community sector
* support residents to play an active role in their community
* promote integration, cohesion and community identity
* support the development and delivery of community projects, initiatives and events
The role involves partnership working, engagement and outreach activity, capacity building and project support across both neighbourhood and town-wide priorities.
You will bring energy, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to community development values. You will be confident working with people from diverse backgrounds and able to build positive, productive relationships.
Additional information
Two-year fixed term contract.
Occasional evening and weekend working forms part of the role.
A full and current UK driving licence will be a requirement of the role.
A satisfactory clearance of a basic DBS is required as part of this role.
