The Port of Cromarty Firth is a Trust Port dedicated to improving, safeguarding, and developing the Cromarty Firth as a port for the benefit of stakeholders. It is a self-financing commercial entity.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Deckhand or experienced marine crew member to join our team.
Reporting to the Marine Crew Manager, the successful candidate will work as part of the marine crew to optimize our pilotage service and support the delivery of PoCF marine crew objectives. The ideal candidate will hold an RYA Advanced Powerboat License and have experience working on-call or out of hours. Candidates with fewer qualifications may be considered if they have essential marine operational experience.
Key responsibilities:
1. Operate and assist in the maintenance of all PoCF marine crafts.
2. Return marine crafts to safe haven.
3. Moor vessels, provide services, and manage vessel release.
4. Maintain PoCF premises, facilities, and equipment, including general ground maintenance, painting, litter picking, and other duties as required.
5. Perform general marine duties such as debris recovery, oil spill response, and launch maintenance.
6. Work on a rota system to meet business needs, supporting training and development of crew members.
7. Plan and execute maintenance for crafts, equipment, and facilities, including completing marine craft checks.
8. Perform other duties as required to support business operations.
