Our dynamic and friendly North Ayrshire Community team based in Stevenston are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with care experience to join them as a Team Leader on a full-time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week).
The North Ayrshire community team provides a wide variety of supported living services to individuals in Saltcoats, Stevenston, Irvine, Largs and Kilbirnie. We support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, ongoing mental health issues and dementia. Due to the requirements of the service, we can only accept applications from candidates who have a valid driving licence and access to their own car. This role involves a mix of office work, working from home and shift work in the services themselves.
Responsibilities
* Coach and mentor the team, providing regular support including supervision and identifying training needs.
* Produce the monthly rotas, considering budgetary requirements and ensuring staff meet their contracted hours.
* On-call duties will be allocated on a rotational basis.
* Liaise with external health professionals and facilitate meetings with supported individuals and key people in their lives to create accurate and effective person-centred support plans.
* Match the people we support with staff members, considering specific outcomes and goals for each individual.
Qualifications and skills
* Minimum of at least 2 years of experience supporting individuals within care.
* Great verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
* Good understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards.
* SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or be willing to work towards your qualification.
* Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, families, healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
* Ability to motivate and lead others.
Hours, location & benefits
* Team Leaders generally work Monday to Friday, with possible on-call cover. Based on the service needs, this may include evenings, sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays.
