Role Summary
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic role, acting as a key advisor to senior leadership. The HRBP aligns HR strategies with organisational goals, drives performance, leads organisational change, and fosters a resilient, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. The role is responsible for supporting assigned directorates while collaborating across the council as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support council objectives.
* Organisational Development & Change: Lead workforce transformation initiatives, talent management, and succession planning.
* Senior Leadership Advice: Provide guidance on workforce planning, performance management, and complex employee relations.
* Performance & Talent Management: Design systems to align employee goals with organisational priorities and develop leadership capability.
* Policy & Compliance: Maintain up-to-date HR policies ensuring legal compliance and fairness.
* Culture & Employee Engagement: Promote a positive workplace culture, inclusivity, and employee engagement.
* Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with senior leaders, unions, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
* MCIPD qualification (or equivalent experience).
* Degree or equivalent in HR, Business Administration, or related discipline.
* Significant experience in HR business partnering or strategic HR, ideally in the public sector.
* Proven track record in organisational change, talent management, and HR strategy.
* Strong communication, influencing, and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of employment law, public sector HR practices, and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
