Your New CompanyA respected multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a skilled Fire Engineer to join its growing Fire Safety and Engineeringteam. The organisation provides specialist technical expertise across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public-sector projects. You'll be joining a collaborative environment where innovative solutions, technical excellence, and client service are at the heart of every project.Your New RoleAs a Fire Engineer, you will play a key technical role in the design, development, and delivery of fire engineering strategies across a diverse and challenging portfolio. Youwill work closely with internal design teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure buildings comply with fire safety legislation and industry best practice.Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing fire engineering strategies in accordance with current legislation, British Standards, and industry guidance.
* Producing fire engineering reports, fire strategy drawings, and technical documentation.
* Supporting design teams on projects across all RIBA stages, providing expert fire safety input.
* Undertaking fire modelling (e.g., smoke modelling, evacuation modelling) where required, depending on your level of experience.
* Providing technical fire safety advice to clients, architects, project managers, and contractors.
* Contributing to fire risk assessments, audits, site inspections, and due-diligence reviews.
* Supporting multidisciplinary teams with design coordination and compliance matters.
* Engaging in continuous professional development to remain up to date with changes in legislation, standards, and guidance.
* Supporting project delivery quality, maintaining accurate records, and helping develop internal fire engineering processes.
This role offers exposure to high-profile projects and the opportunity to work oncomplex designs where innovative fire engineering solutions are essential.What You'll Need to SucceedTo excel in this position, you will bring:
* A degree in Fire Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Strong technical understanding of fire engineering principles, building regulations, British Standards, and relevant industry guidance.
* Experience producing fire engineering strategies or contributing to fire-related design work within consultancy, construction, or a similar environment.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
* Strong report-writing capabilities and attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams and manage workloads effectively.
The following would be advantageous:
* Progression towards or membership of a relevant professional body (IFE, IFSM, SFPE).
* Experience with fire engineering modelling software (e.g., CFAST, FDS, Pathfinder).
* Experience supporting fire risk assessments or site-based fire safety inspections.
