This is a development role moving from an IT Procurement Administrator Band 3 to an IT Procurement Officer Band 4 within the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
The role is based onsite at the CITS office in Redruth on Drump Road. Working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week.
Responsibilities
* Provide IT advice, stock control, asset management and purchasing support to all NHS organisations in Cornwall.
* Advise on IT equipment required for specific needs.
* Requisition and receive equipment to fulfil call requests.
* Track orders and update customers on delivery status.
* Maintain and update the call management system.
* Maintain the asset register and allocate asset numbers.
* Frequent receipt of large orders, stock control, movement and device preparation.
* Liaise with customers and colleagues both verbally and written.
* Adhere to the trust’s health and safety practices.
* Communicate inter‑team to avoid duplication and ensure accuracy.
* Daily lifting and moving of equipment, ranging from parcels to deliveries of 1000+ boxes.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Basic knowledge in IT and willingness to learn the trust’s processes and procedures to fulfil the IT needs of all NHS organisations in Cornwall.
* A full driving licence is desirable to assist with transporting equipment between sites and storage areas using Trust vehicles.
Career Progression
Upon meeting the required criteria, the employee will progress from Band 3 to Band 4 in 1–3 years, depending on aptitude and ability.
