Overview
Support Worker/ Personal Care Assistant. Location: Crawley. This role is to support a man living at home in Crawley who has several health issues that can be managed with good, efficient and skilled care.

Hours and pay
Hours per week: Monday to Sunday
- 2 hours in the morning starting at 8 or 9 am
- 1 1/2 hours in the early evening starting around 5 pm
- 2 people required, 1 hour starting at 10 pm
Hourly pay rate: £14.00, rising to £15.00 after a 6-month probation period
I live at home in Crawley and need help to achieve a level of independent living. I have several health issues, but these can be managed with good, efficient and skilled carers.
Duties
* To help get a gentleman up in the morning using a hoist and provide all personal care.
* Afternoon is for toileting and pad changes.
* Morning - to get a gentleman up in the morning using a hoist and providing all personal care.
* Tea time - toileting and pad changes, then assist with dinner and medication.
* Night - personal care and preparation for bed, including hoisting to bed.
Candidate qualities
* Respectful of the employers privacy and confidentiality

* Able to follow instructions and work on own initiative
* Hygienic, tidy and well organised
* Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
* Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
* Honest and cheerful
* Creative
* Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
* Able to work to high standards of health & safety
Desirable Criteria
* Non-smoker preferred; smoking is not permitted in the house or car.
* Good communication skills with blind and/or deaf awareness.
* Experience of and qualifications in working in a care setting.
* Previous experience preferred, but a kind and common-sense approach is valued.
Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.
