About the Role
Lodders is an ambitious and forward-thinking law firm, putting client service and our people at the heart of everything we do. The Business Property team focuses on non-contentious commercial property transactions, advising on acquisitions and disposals of freehold and leasehold properties, portfolio management, secured lending, corporate support, commercial development and investment, and all aspects of landlord and tenant matters.
Responsibilities
* New leases and renewal leases
* Landlord & tenant management work
* Assisting in drafting reports on title and Certificates of Title
* Commercial acquisitions and disposals
* Secured lending work
* Dealing with post‑completion matters
* Handling solicitor and client enquiries, and internal enquiries
* Maintaining client matter schedules for internal and external use
* Participating in and instigating business development activity, including attendance at relevant events and producing content for publication
* Undertaking a range of continuing professional development activities
Qualifications and Skills
* 3 to 5 years PQE
* Real‑estate experience in landlord and tenant work, property transactions, and general commercial real estate (corporate support experience desirable but not essential)
* Demonstrable interest in real estate and the type of work carried out
* Commercial approach to problem solving and providing innovative solutions
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads, work to tight deadlines, keep accurate time records, organise files and carry out administrative tasks
* Thoroughness and attention to detail
* Confident and effective communication skills
* Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
* Commercial approach to client service
Preferred Skills
We would like you to have at least 3 years of post‑qualification experience gained with a leading property practice. You will be able to demonstrate a strong intellect, evidenced with a high level of academic achievement, and be someone who shows initiative, drive, and excellent organisational skills. We expect you to be a genuine team player and a great communicator, who enjoys helping and working alongside others. You will be eager to learn, develop and hone your skills to take advantage of the opportunities for career development.
